Comments
When visitors leave comments on EGMA, we collect the information provided in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string. This helps us detect and prevent spam.
An anonymized string (hash) of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using a profile image. The Gravatar privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture will be publicly visible next to your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the EGMA website, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors may download and extract any location information embedded in your images.
Cookies
- When leaving a comment, you may opt-in to save your name, email, and website in cookies. These cookies last one year for your convenience.
- Visiting the login page sets a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.
- Logging in sets cookies to save login information and screen display preferences. Login cookies last two days, screen options cookies last one year, and selecting “Remember Me” keeps you logged in for two weeks. Logging out removes login cookies.
- Editing or publishing an article creates an additional cookie containing the post ID of the article edited. This cookie expires after one day.
